The M249 Machine Gun is an air-cooled, gas-operated, fully-automatic-only firearm that fires from an open bolt position. The M249 MKII is a version used by civilian agencies and had short field trials by the US military. It features a fixed stock and the performance of the battle tested M249 Machine gun.
