Japanese Type 90

The Type 90 (Japanese Kanji 90) is the current main battle tank of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. It is built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and entered service in 1990. The Type 90 mounts a licensed copy of the Rheinmetall L44 120 mm smooth bore cannon product by Japan Steel Works Limited. This is the same gun that is mounted on the American Abrams Tank. Its low profile and powerful drivetrain make it a highly manuerverable Battle Tank.
